    Dr. John D. Cogar, Medical Director

    Dr. Cogar is a 1975 graduate of Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. He founded the High Peaks Animal Hospital practice in 1989. Dr. Cogar has a special interest in small animal surgery and has an assortment of companions at home, which include dogs, cats and most recently two goats.

    Dr. Ronald Kim

    Dr. Kim, a 2004 graduate of Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, joined the practice following a year of clinical work at Purdue University. He has a special interest in internal medicine. He has two dogs and two cats.

    Dr. Matthew Culverwell

     Dr. Culverwell is a 2011 graduate of Ross University of Veterinary Medicine. He joined the practice in October 2011 after a year of clinical work at Colorado State University. His interests include small animal internal medicine as well as surgery. He lives with a 2 year old Caribbean rescue dog named Kitt.

  • Dr. Andrine Belliveau

    Dr. Andrine Belliveau

    "Dr. B" joined our practice in August of 2011 after completing her studies at Tufts University in Massachusetts. She has a special interest in ultrasound and pain management. She is currently owned by a Jack Russel Terrier names Shiloh and two cats, Roo and Bergi.

  • Jennifer Smith- Practice Manager

    Jennifer Smith- Practice Manager

    Jenny is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who joined the practice in May 2011 to serve as both a Technician and Practice Manager. She received her degree from SUNY Canton and was Licensed with Boards in 2005.

     She is also a certified dog trainer with the Animal Behavior College. She has a special interest in orthopedics and the physical rehabilitation of canines as well as cardiac care and treatments.

    She has two dogs at home named Phoebe and Marlee.

    Jessica- Veterinary Assistant

    Jessica joined the practice in September 2010 as a Veterinary Assistant. She received a Bachelors Degree from SUNY Oswego in 2006 and her background ranges from the Non-Profit Sector to the Dentistry field.

    Her deep love and respect for animals is what brought her to us and she has a special interest in canine and feline dentistry.

    She has two Corgis, named Charlie and Stewie, who are littermates from Pennsylvania and a beloved cat named Jack who she rescued from the SPCA.

    Emily- Veterinary Assistant

    Emily came to us in October of 2010 and started her time here as a receptionist. Her desire to work hands-on with the animals is what brought her to change her role here to Veterinary Assistant. She received a Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Fredonia in 2002.

    Her special interests include spending time with her two pets, Jasper the Shih Tzu from Maine, who has a spunky attitude and Jack, the laid-back cat.

    Emily's beloved dog Smokie was the reason she was interested in joining the Veterinary field. Smokie passed away recently and will always be fondly remembered by our staff as a beloved and loyal friend of Emily's.

    Amanda-Veterinary Assistant

    Amanda grew up in Pennsylvania and has an extensive background in Animal Care. She splits her time between being a part time Veterinary Assistant at our hospital and working full time as a Wildlife Technician at the Department of Environmental Conservation.

    She attended the Universtiy of Idaho and studied Wildlife Resources.

    Amanda has three dogs at home. Tess and Dex are English Setters and Emma is a Brittany Spaniel.

    Amanda-Receptionist

    Amanda has been with the practice since 2008. As part of the reception team, she has come to know many of our clients very well. In her spare time she likes to spend time in nature. Hiking, boating and skiing are all activities she enjoys.

    She has two dogs at home. Kyah is a 9 year old German Shepherd and Skyward is a two year old Beagle mix.

    Kyle-Receptionist

    Kyle is a receptionist who came to us from the Health Care field. Her decision to change to animal care is one that we are very happy she made. Kyle has three human children and four animal "children" at home.

    A thirteen year old poodle, a Sharpei mix, a Terrier mix and a cat, who recently had a litter of kittens, make up her full and loved home.

    Susan has been part of the reception team since 2010. As a part time employee here, she is very dedicated to both the hospital and the animals that spend time here.

    She has a rescue dog named Marlie-Jo, who was severely mistreated by a former owner and Susan has very successfully trained Marlie and transformed her into a loving and social girl.

    Coretta is also new to us! She attended Paul Smith’s College for 4 years and is originally from Staten Island. She has one cat at home.

    Meghan is one of our newest receptionists. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Castleton State in Vermont and has a lovely dog named Maude, who is a Beagle mix.

    Sean is our devoted Kennel Attendant. He knows all of the dogs that board with us very well and develops special relationships with many of them! When he is not here at the hospital, he is out in the wilderness recording birds and other wildlife for Cornell University. He has had a special interest in birds for a very long time and has a wealth of knowledge about them.

    Kelsy likes to horseback ride and care for horses. She has a plethora of animals at home which includes 3 dogs, 2 rabbits, 3 cats, a turtle and 5 fish!
